Bodo Aretz is a labor economist at the German Council of Economic Experts in Wiesbaden, Germany.

He studied Economics at the University of Bonn and the University of Granada in Spain between 2003 and 2008. During this time he worked as a student assistant at IZA for 16 months. He then joined the Research Department of Labor Markets, Human Resources and Social Policy at the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) in Mannheim. In 2013, he received his doctoral degree from the University of Mannheim in the area of behavioral and labor economics. His main research tasks include labor market policy, minimum and low wages and behavioral economics.

In November 2012, Bodo Aretz became an IZA Research Affiliate. Since February 2015, he is IZA Research Fellow.
